I recently purchased an old IBM Thinkpad A30 on Ebay. When I run MacPup Foxy3 on it everything works perfect except for saving wireless settings. Each time I boot up, I need to use the wizard to connect to my wireless net. I have a 3Com. Card with WEP security. The wizard has no trouble seeing my network and enabling a connection. I save my settings as appropriate, but on the next boot I need to connect using the wizard. Perhaps it my misunderstanding - does Puppy have the capability to automatically connect you to your network on boot up?

Yes Aen you should be able to save your network settings.
Once you are booted up and in MacPup, go to the Wizard/Wizard and select "Connect to Internet or Intranet..."
... next select "Internet by network or wireless LAN..."
select "eth1" (or whichever Interface has your Wireless)
if it's not there then you may need to "Load module" and find your card there.
Once you select "eth1" you should be able to select "Wireless" and set up your connection.
Be sure to select "Scan" first and select the right ESSID.
If you use a WEP encription select that and add your encription key and ESSID and profile name.
Once back to the Configure network interface page select your "Auto DHCP" or "Static IP".
It should connect ... be sure to answer "Yes" when it asks if you want to save this profile. You should be good to go.
I'm not sure of your setup but adjust accordingly as you go through the setup process.

SOLVED
Thanks Timber for your input. Actually, I was doing everything you stated in your post but having the problems I described despite that. This week, I received a new Belkin Wireless G notebook card that I had ordered and presto, everything works just as it should. (the 3Com card was faulty and it's condition unknown) It was not easy to set up the new card because Belkin does not support linux but it does work great once the proper Windows driver is loaded and "wrapped". Of course, the Puppy Wizard was of great help to a novice like myself.Puppy is truly the best!!!
