   first of all let me say what a sweet looking distro!

   the good news is when I installed MacPup Foxy 3, it didn't recognize my wireless drivers..

   I installed MacPup Opera 2.0 and it did! I opened up Pwireless.. found my network, set up a profile, typed in the correct WEP key and then a box says

   IP address: 169.254.110.81
   OK TRY AGAIN Rescan

   I know that is not the correct IP address.. it should be 192.something.

   anyone have any ideas? I'm so close to getting the wireless to work..

   and yes I ran the network wizard to no avail.

   I've tried all of this.. still nothing!

   I even took all WEP keys and security away and it still wouldn't connect.

   what can it be? anything you can think of??

   That means we dont support your wireless card. Sorry :(

   Hi groogruxking40 - I was reading your post and thought you might want to hear my experience with wireless on MacPup Foxy 3.0 I am in no way an expert here but I had similar failures initially on an IBM ThinkPad A30 and a Belkin wireless G notebook card.

   For what it is worth - Foxy 3 did not recognize my wireless card driver. The net work wizard has a sequence where one can "wrap" a Windows driver with Ndiswrapper to allow it to be used in Linux. Once this was done it worked perfectly with WEP encryption. You might want to give this a try if you haven't to date.

   What aen suggested is good thing.. one more addon is to compile a driver module and add it to kernel (~kernel compilation with driver source code if available) which will resolve any detection problem... u need dev sfs for that... jus my opinion.....
