I think it would be nice to add an option to limit the lines of text displayed when oveviewing several posts. The idea is to only show Title + n lines of text; and if the story exceeds some limits, offer visitors a link to "view the complete post..."
Like in newspapers your first eye catching item is the title itself and in second place a summary header that acts as a teaser to help you decide if it interests you enough to click the "view the complete story..." link.
It seems to me that from a technical point of view, one option would be to expand the "post as page" feature, to create a full story post that could be included as a link in the shorter "teaser post"
Another option might be to display 2 text editors at once, one for a summary that will be always displayed, and below a 2nd one in case you want to create a more extended full story. If you decide to enter text in the 2nd. editor a link "view the complete story..." could be automaticaly inserted at the end of the "header" post.
The benefits:
- display more posts per page (I know you can adjust pagination but the purpose here is different / its all marketing :-)
- visitors are encouraged to click on posts they want to read complete
- when they view a single post per page, they can also see existing comments, and might feel more encouraged to leave their own (editor is already there)
- posibility to add a visitor counter per post (*)
- posibility to add a rating system to highlight most popular articles (*)
(*) I already added some Ajax stuff on my test site
