Prit And I are proud to announce the release of our newest e17 Macpup, Macpup Foxy 3.0

Macpup Foxy 3.0 is based on puppylinux 4.31.1 (k2.6.30.5) a bug fix
    version by Ttuuxxx.
It also includes all the updates from the 4.3.1 servicepack.Fox 3 has
all the apps from 4.3 plus Firefox (updated to 3.5.4) and Gimp 2.6.3 .Fox 3 also Has
Dbus 1.2.16 & Sakura 1.2.3 compiled and installed from source. The Enlightenment e17 window manager version .062 was also compiled and installed from source. You can also use jwm. Use the exit menu to change window managers , In e17 that is the exit icon on the desktop. Please note that not all the options in the e17 system shutdown menu work with puppy linux. That is why the exit menu was added.

The battery module in this build of E17 had a problem of Maxing out the cpu.So
I removed it in Fox 3.I have added a script to check battery status .
Just click on the battery icon if you are using a laptop.

When using a pup-save file It is recommended that you copy the zp430305.sfs to
the partition or drive that you have the pup-save file to make sure all of your
    drivers are loaded.

The included e17 theme,A Wood, is By Verdegal37 and was customized for Macpup.
You can see more of his work at:

One thing I forgot to do is to turn the edge bindings off. If you hang a app off the edge or slam the pointer into the edge it will change desktops. Alot of times when you dont want it to. To fix this go to menu-settings-settings panel. In the app that opens on the top go to input then select edge bindings. In the next window select delete all then apply and close. You can also change the binding to do other stuff....

OK , I have some extra themes for everyone. They are in two .pets . The first is the Fox3extra.pet it has the two themes that I was going to put in Fox 3 but left out to keep the .iso size down around that of opera061's . The themes are A-wood-macpup2.edj and Macpup-WB.edj

The second is Next-1.pet It has the A-SBlack-Esp1Macpup.edj and the updated version of that theme Luxblue-macpup.edj It also has two backgrounds, stars.edj is a standalone version of the background from A-SBlack-Esp1Macpup complete with animated stars. And stars2.edj that is a animated version of the background from the Luxblue theme that has stars cause the theme background dosen't.

All of these themes are by Verdegal37 and I modified them for Macpup.Just install the .pets and select the new themes......

There are other themes and backgrounds on my page most of them will get repackaged into .pet's this week. Enjoy !!!

I have uploaded another theme .pet called Fox-2 . It will give you two animated backgrounds and two themes. Imago-macpup.edj and Megan-Foz3.edj This will give you the Blue/Black look from macpup foxy 2.0 and Foxy e17 . Both of those themes are based on themes By ZaZoOo from :

I have started playing with Foxy 3, as I have been using Foxy 2 for some time. Unfortunately, my old eyes find the fonts in 3 to be too small. I have tried changing the fonts in the setup, but is doesn't seem to make any difference. Any suggestions?

Also, is it a feature of macpup, or of puppy 4.3 that there is no longer a link to the harddrive when you open the roxy file manager? Personally I found that really helpful. Is there some way of adding it? I know I can mount the harddrive, but would rather not have to go through that step, if possible.

It looks great, and I hope to be able to make it work for me, but right now the too small font, makes the user interface a problem for me.

    thanks for the time.

    cheers, Paul

    Hi Agust,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that doesn't work. I have tried changing between the various options from tiny to huge, and it has no effect.

Ok, my apologies, I found the "scaling" option, and that did the trick after some playing around. Now, I can't seem to be able to add .sfs files at startup. I have the one I previously used in the same place as the 430.sfs file, but keep getting a file not found error. I am trying to add the oxygenoffice.sfs, but so far no joy. Any suggestions?

    Well paule look here:

For Scaling simply returns to its initial configuration.

    Hi Agust,

I don't see how anything on that link relates to the issue. Sorry if I am missing something.

ON the .sfs how are you running fox 3 is it a frugal install or are you just using a pup-save? Is it named xxx-430.sfs ? If all else fails you can mount the sfs by clicking on it and just copy everything over to your system.

I am having trouble getting the Macpup implementation of Firefox to talk with Thunderbird. I Installed Thunderbird 3 from a pet, but for some reason I cannot get Firefox to call thunderbird to "send link" etc. I have followed the procedures in about:config that I have used in another pup implementation to get them to talk to each other, but unlike that installation, Macpup is somehow different. Any suggestions as to what I need to do different from the procedures outlined here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_mail_client

    Thanks in advance.

I have never used thunderbird ,I have no idea about that .I would suggest contacting Ttuuxxx at the puppylinux forum , We used his build of Firefox.

Is it possible to get the icon panel to move out of the way when not in use? I am finding that the panel and the clock impede the function of some of the applications I use.

open the setting panel and look for the shelf settings , under advanced you can set them to be below everything or even to auto hide.

Agust , I was looking through your gallery at DeviantArt, You have some really impressive new stuff !!! Would it be possible for you to make plain versions of the backgrounds from the themes E17Theme Blue Paradise and Desktop E17PCLinuxOS Black without the PCLinuxOs stuff ?
